Modified Cool Poll Module for Joomla 1.5

So we we're trying to build a poll on one of our websites and we ended up finding this great module developed by Gospodin Bodurov which is a great alternative as it is to the poll module that comes with Joomla. Basically, this cool module allows you to display the poll results on the same page as the module. 

What did we do to modify it? Well, we added a html/css bar graph to go along with this module so you can easily turn your poll results into a great looking graph. It includes a few parameters to change the colors and text of the bars and you can easily change any of the other attributes to the graph through css modifications.

Add A Product In VirtueMart

 


 

Step 1 - Enter Your VirtueMart Store

 

You can find the link to your VirtueMart store under the "Components" tab in the top menu bar.

 

You may have to login again but don't worry, it's just a quirk of VirtueMart.

 

 


 

Step 2 - Open The Product List

 

When you first enter your VirtueMart store you will see this control panel. By clicking on the "Product List" icon you will be taken to a list of all the products in your store.

 

You can also find this list by clicking the "Products" tab to the left and then choosing the "List Products" option. Either way you end up in the same place.

 

 


 

Step 3 - Click The "New" Button

 

You will find this in the top right corner of the Product List page.

 

Notice the list of products below. If your list is empty do not worry, it just means your store is new and needs products added.

 

 


 

Step 4 - Fill Out Your Product Info

 

SKU - This has to be a unique number. Both numbers and letters can be used.

 

Name - Your products name.

 

Category - Choose what category your product belongs to.

 

Product Price - Assign a price to your product.

 

Product Description - Add a description of your product.

 

Step 5 - Find The Product Weight Tab

 

It's labeled "Product Dimensions and Weight" and after you've completed Step 4 go ahead and click on it.

 

 


 

Step 6 - Give Your Product Weight

 

Find the weight value and enter the weight. This will help VirtueMart determine shipping costs when a customer places an order.

 

Step 7 - Find the "Product Images" tab

 

It's labeled "Product Images" and after you are done with Step 6 go ahead and click on it.

 

 

  

Step 8 - Find The "Full Image Browse"

 

Go ahead and click on this and it will open the browse dialog box.

 

Step 9 - Thumbnail Creation

 

Once you select an image, the option to "Auto-Create Thumbnail" should be checked. If it isn't, make sure it is.

 

 


 

Step 10 - Save It All

 

Make sure and save what you've done or you'll have to do it all over again!

 

 


 

Step 11 - Adding Extra Images

 

You've now added your product as well as an image to go along with it. But if you want to add multiple images you still have a few steps to go through so click on the image icon next to your chosen product.

 

 


 

Step 12 - Find The "New" Button

 

You have probably realized that these buttons are a recurring theme by now. When you click on this icon you are creating a new image to go along with your product. Notice that the main image you added earlier is also listed.

 

 


 

Step 13 - Extra Image Information

 

Again, you must browse for the image that you choose and once you pick the correct image you have to make sure that the "Auto-Create Thumbnail" option is checked and that the "Height" and "Width" values are set to the appropriate number. These values will be given to you in an email from GreenSprout.

 

Step 14 - Save Your Hard Work

 

Find the "Save" button in the top right corner and click it to make sure that the extra image is saved to the site.

 

Step 15 - Enjoy Your Handywork!

 

You can now go back to the front end of your store and see your new product that you just added. If it isn't there, don't fret, just try again (the best way to learn how to do this is to just do it) or contact GreenSprout and we'll be more than happy to help you out.
